Channel Ideas
We need to come up with a channel and a design for the channel for this project. Once we had gotten into a team, we begun deciding on what sort of topics we would need to find a story on. This included deciding on our target audience for the channel itself.
We came to the decision on targeting Students, this is because it's a huge audience. In 2015 UCAS found that 532,300 people entered into Higher Education, that was only one year and those students would still be in University now if they stayed their course as the majority of university courses are 3 years long. As well, online content like Netflix, Spotify, LadBible and Uni Days all have a huge following with Students as their content interests them. (https://goo.gl/f6oJUM)

Once we had come to this decision, we talked about possible topics for the channel.
I suggested a current affairs programme, but focusing on stories that are a focus on students. This could have stories such as the rise in tuition fees, discussion about the new contracts for student nurses (having to work more hours for less pay) or even the issue with student loans and gaining grants for student projects.

Another idea that was given, this one by George Wing, was to have a sort of 'Gadget Show' but for students. So this could be comparing gadgets in compassion to prices and which is better for students (e.g. comparing a Macbook to an ordanary laptop and the benefits), also maybe handy little gadgets which students could find beneficial or DIY gadgets. But this began shifting and we discussed making this into a sort of 'guide' for students. To give ideas and advice on how to live with a budget for students who are living off their student loans.

Once coming up with these ideas, we had a meeting with our tutor Helen and talked through these. She suggested that we merge both the ideas together so we can make a channel based purely for students but get a good mixture of current affairs and advice for students to help them in University. We were told that we need to research into the topics we had suggested. So from this I agreed to take on researching into the current situations with Student Nurses and with the potential rise in tuition fees.
