PRE-PRODUCTION - SHOT LIST (V3)

With the newest script being done, I updated the shot list. I was already happy with the layout of the 2nd shot list so I chose to keep it. However, how I sectioned the list out to match the script no longer worked as the script now doesn't have sections. So instead I divided the list into sections again but with sections that we would film at the same time. The sections are;

Intro
Tanya in Bodmin
Traveling
Oliver
Sapphire
Amy
Performance

Which helps me divide up the sections of the shot list and be able to make a shooting order once we get closer to the shoot.

The first 2 pages no shots changed. However, what I did add was reference images of Bodmin which I found on https://www.visitcornwall.com/places/bodmin, my reason for adding these is because I can't recce the location but by having reference images I'm able to show what is it I'm looking for when I get there and I can also plan out better with Victoria how to get to these locations and how long it will take to film all of these.

Only a few new shots were added but even though the first section of the documentary is being shot on the tripod, I still want to make the footage as interesting as possible by using all aspects of the location, shooting through things, around Tanya, through mirrors, etc. Anything to make the shot more creative.

Moving on to Oliver, Sapphire and Amy's interview. I wrote in the different areas of the theatre that we can film their performances in. Oliver in the dressing room works fine as he's a singer and performer. Sapphire and Amy were a little more tricky as there's one dressing room but I don't want them all in the same location. When I did my recce of the theatre I noted that the bar above the theatre looks different in each part so this could pass off as 2 different locations if shot well. Sapphire could be filmed here with the photos of Drag Queens on the wall behind him, so it's still relevant. Amy can be sat at the bar, awaiting the performance. Making her look more important. The use of the bar can give the impression she's more important, she's allowed to sit and have a drink and when she's introduced as the expert this'll help visually as well.

All the performance coverage is the same for each performer. However, this doesn't mean it won't look different. Oliver may sing a slow song and with that the movement of the camera will be slower, the pans smoother and the zoom ins would only happen with the build up to the songs high note. Sapphire likes to do a lot of dancing and also the splits, as I found when doing Steal the Style so this may mean keeping to the wide shots more and faster movement from the camera to keep up with the performance.
