DOCUMENTARY UNIT: SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERT

Since we want to look into the social media aspect of this topic as well as actually going to Berlin to speak with people about why they're taking these photos on the Holocaust Memorial, we looked up any social media experts based in the UK. We found a woman called Jodie Cook.

Jodie is one of the UK's leading experts in Social Media. She set up a Social Media agency back in 2011 and the company and her reputation has grown and grown since then. Jodie works with both company and education based companies. Her agency (JC Social Media) is one of the largest social media specialists in the UK and offers Social Media Management and training for their customers.

Social Media has become such a huge part of our lives, not only as a young generation but as a society. On my phone I've got the following social media apps:
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Instagram
- YouTube
- Snapchat

And usually, people that I speak to will have most, if not all, of those applications as well. Social media is getting bigger and bigger. It's also because of Social Media that Shahak Shapira found those inappropriate selfies and then went on to start the Yolocaust Project.

We thought that Jodie would be the best to speak to about this topic. We found her LinkedIn account which had a contact number for her agency. When we contacted them, we were put straight through to Jodie. After explaining the project she was very interested in helping but suggested one of her colleagues to be interviewed rather than herself.

David Glenwright is another social media expert who works for JC Social Media. He's one of the main trainers for the company but the reason that Jodie reccomended him is because he studied as a War Expert, having gone to University and gained a Degree in War Studies. So, he'd have a much stronger opinion of these selfies and could also help to answer whether he feels that we, as a young generation have become numb to the events of the Holocaust and why he thinks this is.
Jodie gave us his contact details and Trine agreed to continue to communicating with David to set up a date and location. But, David has already mentioned that he is based in Birmingham. We spoke as a group and did agree this could be possible and since we can't afford to pay for David's travel to London and back just to get a 1 hour interview due to Budget, taking the crew and kit up to Birmingham would be the best option.

Trine came back to us and we agreed that the 28th April will be the date for traveling to Birmingham to interview David.
