With our second Production meeting. Myself, George Lock and our 2 Producers, Mel and Katie held a Production meeting with the rest of the crew to discuss the content of the show. Each person had come up with different ideas and everyone had gone away and come up with different ideas for the sections.
Trends of the Week/Steals of the Season
Trends of the week was already in the original pitch, however this section would be difficult if we needed new trends every week as some trends don't change and keep going for a few weeks. It was suggested that we focus on Fashion with Seasons, as when we transmit this programme it'll be close to spring/summer. The idea was to have a VT at the end of this section, 2 ideas came for this VT, one being a reporter going around a high street or having our 2 presenters going around the high street to find each other a style relevant to what we have already talked about in the studio.
Plus Size (!Cut!)
This section would be showing Fashion on Plus Size Models as many companies will consider a more slim and skinny figure as a model. However, after discussing this with the crew, we agreed that this shouldn't be a focused section, but instead have plus size models in the show.
Old to New
This was an idea to look into old fashion which has been incorporated into the modern era. This idea came from fan of period dramas such as Peaky Blinders or Stranger Things starting to dress like they do in the TV Series. We thought this would be a good topic to look into as these shows are hugely popular. As well, for a VT we could show old fashion which has stayed in fashion or look into inspiration for fashion, one example was Churchills Siren Suits which have apparently became the onesies we have these days.
Fashion Fails
As the Producers wanted something fun and entertaining with Audience participation. We want to have the audience bring in their fashion fails, meaning their fails in putting together an outfit, wardrobe malfunctions or bad fashion choices from parties or during their school years. We thought this would be ideal as we can go into the audience and discuss this as well as adding in some entertainment.
Wardrobe Dig (!Cut!)
This idea was in the original pitch and we talked about how it would work. Ideally, you'd want a really interesting character and have it so we would guess have to guess who's wardrobe it is. We agreed that this section would only work if the character was a celebrity, otherwise we wouldn't be able to guess who's wardrobe it is.
DIY Fashion
This section, we've talked about looking at big brands and look how into how to emulate the look, so making big budget clothes on a small budget if possible. Maybe having a tutorial section where we show how to make a piece of clothing or we show fun little projects you can do at home which are quick and easy.
Independent shops
This is an idea for a VT. We discussed challenging the presenters, to find the best item or outfit with a budget. Or we could have an interview with the owner of an Independent store and discuss why it's better to shop independent rather than mainstream. Someone suggested looking into Esty, the online shop as thats independent.
Music
I suggested a lot towards this section, having a local musician and we could show how they present themselves on and off stage as a lot of the time these can be completely different. We also talked about how we could have 2 music fans of different music genres do an outfit swap in the studio, for example someone who likes heavy metal music, swapping with someone who likes country music.
Once the meeting was over, Me, George and the Producers came together and agreed that we needed everyone to go away in groups and research in a chosen section so we can have lots of ideas together and we can put together a final structure for the show.
