STUDIO PRODUCTION: FASHION SHOW RESEARCH

George Lock and I agreed that if one of us goes off sick, the other will have to Direct the entire show. With this, we don't really know how to Direct models on a catwalk and also we will be using everyday people (potentially) so they won't know how to walk on a catwalk either. With London Fashion week coming up we tried to contact one of the Fashion Shows to go and watch one so we can see how it's done professionally. However, we weren't able to get any tickets. Looking online I looked into how professional models walk on catwalks. Below is a video of the Top Models of the world from 2016:

While watching this I tried to vision everyday people walking down a catwalk like this... and it just didn't feel right. This is what you expect from high end fashion shows or big brand names like Vogue or Louis Vuitton. But, Steal the Style is meant to be targeting towards everyday people and no models, so I think we need them to be more comfortable on the catwalk rather than confident.

'This Morning' has a fashion section to their show. Looking into one particular clip online, me and George agreed that this was far more our style of modelling the outfits.

2 presenters, an interviewee and a model, simple and effective. When the model comes down the small catwalk, she's not confident, or doing the classic catwalk strut. She walks down, stands and hand on hip and shows the outfit to the audience and the cameras do the rest of the work. What's good here is that the model is actually an everyday person so this is exactly what we want. At the end they ask the models opinion of the outfit which the Producers have told us they want to do for the programme.

What me and George really liked from this was actually the graphics. The lower thirds is a standard for interviews and Studio Productions. However, when the graphics come up showing the Price and shop it was brought from, we thought this needed to be in the show, it only makes sense as we'll be showing all these different clothes and how to style them, people will want to know where you bought them from.
